How to Keep Your Employees Motivated with Travel Incentives
Having incentives at work isn’t something your employees can strive towards, but it can also be used as a tactic to recruit new people. For those working within the travel and tourism industry, this offers employees the opportunity to travel the globe at a fraction of the price. Not only is this a way in which the business can indirectly market their business, but it can also serve as an opportunity for employees to learn about new areas to come back and sell to other clients.
A Journey Through A Decade as A Flight Centre Travel Group Employee
One person who has capitalised on this opportunity is Mark Richardson, Team Leader for a team in Corporate Traveller. He’s been at Flight Centre Travel Group for a decade now and started out within the leisure team. Having worked in the United States for a while, when he returned, he found it difficult to find permanent employment. Flight Centre had reached out to him based on his qualification in tourism and tour operations.
Through hard work and perseverance, Mark qualified for the take-off award as well as the Jet set award which saw him traveling to Victoria Falls and Zanzibar respectively soon after joining. The prospect of growth never looked better and through hard work and determination, it leads to further successes. “I always wanted to work for Corporate Traveller and after working as a Team Leader for Flight Centre in Sunninghill, I grabbed the opportunity for Corporate Traveller”, said Mark.
Experiencing the Flight Centre Travel Group Global Ball
A prestigious event which takes place annually sees over 3000 of the top 10% of employees gather from around the world to celebrate each other's successes. With the only agenda item to have fun, the ball has taken place at venues in Barcelona, Dublin, Paris, Las Vegas, and Singapore. “The first night is always the welcome party which has seen some of the top DJs perform”, said Mark Richardson.
“We’ve been lucky enough to see performances from Will I Am, Basement Jaxx, Fatboy Slim, Jason Derulo, and Pitbull to mention a few”. The second day of the Global Ball celebrations sees the top performing employees receive awards as well as inspirational talks from speakers like Michael Phelps, Jimmy Carr, Gwyneth Paltrow to name a few. The celebrations continue well into the night with a five-star dinner and further live entertainment.
“Through my consistent hard work, I have been blessed to be invited and attended five global balls”, said Mark. An experience every employee at Flight Centre should strive towards. Every year, the ball is bigger and better than the previous year and will leave you speechless.
